reminds us of this fact. The insignia reads: <em>\u201cHere you will mourn the Mare de D\u00e9u de Loreto l\u20191 de Mar\u00e7 de 1545.\u201d<\/em> The chronicles say that at that time Camp d&#8217;Alacant was suffering from a terrible drought. The desperation was so deep that a prayer was organized to move the altarpiece of the virgin from the church of Mutxamel to the monastery of Santa Faz. Returning from the procession on the way to Sant Joan, the bearer of the panel, <strong>Mr. Mos\u00e9n Lloren\u00e7 Boix<\/strong>, stopped exhausted from the effort of carrying the heavy figure. It was then that everyone present saw how tears flowed from the virgin&#8217;s eyes. Shortly after that episode it began to rain, so the neighbors attributed the event to the intermediation of their virgin. To commemorate the miracle, a simple cross was placed in that place. We know many details about this story thanks to the manuscript of D.
