MUSIC IN SANT JOAN
The Maestro Climent Elementary School of Music and the authorized Professional Music Center Vila de Sant Joan have consolidated a dozen stable artistic groups and as many chamber groups, highlighting the music band, the symphony orchestra and the choir.
In 2001, the Maestro Climent elementary school was created in order to teach music to all those interested. Although it was born with the purpose of promoting solid teaching to aspiring members of the band, the success and demand were so overwhelming that other teaching lines had to be opened. It currently has 38 teachers with experience and accredited qualifications teaching a total of 23 subjects. In its educational model, instrumental practice is rehearsed at the group level. It introduces folklore and jazz into the academic offering, as well as technological advances that allow progressive learning of music.
Since 2010, the La Paz musical society has been the owner of the first authorized middle school musical teaching center in the province of Alicante, the conservatory known as the Vila de Sant Joan professional center. Here students can study, take exams and obtain an official professional degree. The instrumental specialties authorized by Education offered are woodwind (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and saxophone), brass (horn, trumpet, trombone and tuba), bowed string (violin, viola, cello and double bass), percussion and piano.
